During Technical Session–1 on “Yoga for Geriatric Population” at Yoga Mahotsav 2026, Dr. Ulka Natu, Gynaecologist, Thane, Maharashtra emphasised that graceful ageing requires a holistic approach integrating physical, mental, emotional and spiritual well-being. She highlighted Yoga practices such as āsanas, prāṇāyāma, trāṭaka, mantra japa and meditation as effective tools for maintaining health in later years.
Stressing the importance of self-awareness, positive thinking and inner happiness, she encouraged individuals to accept ageing naturally, reduce attachments and cultivate emotional balance. She concluded that consistent Yoga practice, along with healthy lifestyle habits and supportive social interactions, can promote healthy, meaningful and graceful ageing.
